The Erskine Reid Macewen Activities Centre is dedicated to improving the well-being of veterans in the community. It offers veterans the chance to connect with others who share their experiences, learn new skills, pursue various interests, and access support services. The center's objectives include providing accessibility to veterans, offering purposeful activities with support from staff and volunteers, giving relevant guidance through partnerships with specialist organisations, and involving veterans in service design and delivery.
Eligibility: The center is open to veterans who have served in HM Armed Forces, the Merchant Marine, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Home Guard, or similar roles.
Venue: The center is located in a historic stable building on the picturesque Erskine estate, offering a unique and rewarding experience within a friendly community.
Provision: Activities include social, sports, music, films, lunch, relaxation, as well as skills development in computing, woodwork, arts, and health and well-being. Support services are available through drop-in sessions provided by various organisations.
Facilities: Open Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, allowing veterans to drop in for a few hours or stay all day. Refreshments and a hot lunch option are available, along with ample parking facilities.
