In the UK the workforce is circa 43K employees within 400 warehouse locations across the UK. At GXO, we are proud to be a global workforce with strong talent at every level. We focus on creating a workplace that allows everyone to thrive. We take care of the health and safety of our employees; our diversity, culture of respect and focus on collaboration are core to how we believe a business should be run and key to how we deliver.
GXO are proud supporters of the military community and we recognise the invaluable transferable skills that we get from the armed forces and we understand the sacrifice that people in the armed forces community make for us, they deserve our support. Over the past 18 months we have been creating and driving forward the armed forces agenda both internally and externally by: - Being awarded our Silver Covenant for the commitment we have shown. We are in the process of applying for our gold in 2024. - Creating a tick box on application that identifies when someone is applying with an armed forces background. This demonstrates our positive attitude to employing people from the armed forces and reassures individuals that they will not face any discrimination through our recruitment processes. - Advertising our vacancies directly to the military community though CTP and ForcesFamilies job boards. - Created our employee resource group ‘Tea & Toast’. This is a monthly meeting on teams where anyone interested in our armed forces agenda at GXO can join and add value. We have members from all of the forces, reservists, cadet volunteers and advocates in the group (lots of banter) and the aim is to support each other in our careers, encourage more applications from the armed forces community and achieve our Gold covenant. - Created a military mentor programme. We have a number of ex-forces personal that have signed up to be military mentors for people with an armed forces background
