Promoting the Armed Forces: we will continue to strive to offer fair employment opportunities to the Armed Forces community and will promote careers available within the organisation, making sure it is clear the Veteran personnel will not be discriminated against. Employment support to members of the Armed Forces Community: we will continue to support Armed Forces, or Veteran personnel employed by the organisation through advocating the Veterans mentoring programme and supporting the Veterans Employee Engagement Group and their activities. o Support Reservists by offering them additional days of annual leave paid in order to carry out their duties. o Support the employment of Service spouses, partners and dependants by signing up to Forces Families Jobs and Career Transition Partnership; offering shortnotice leave to those whose partners are sent on deployment; and working with the tri Service Families Federations. o Offer additional paid annual leave to Cadet Force Adult Volunteers to help them carry out their training requirement. Communications, engagement and outreach: we will, wherever possible, support and engage with local cadet force, reservist or military charities to promote wider outreach within the armed forces community. o Promote the Armed Forces Covenant, the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme and our support for the Armed Forces Community to our staff, customers/service users, supply chains and the wider public. o Support or promote Armed Forces events, such as Armed Forces Day/Week, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal and Remembrance activities. o Use the Covenant and Employer Recognition Scheme logos in our communications and marketing and on our website. Health: we will commit to ensuring that all Veterans or other Armed Forces personnel within the organisation are aware of the initiative available to support their ongoing health, both physical and mental. o Offer concessionary access to leisure centres and sports facilities for members of the Armed Forces Community as part of our employee benefit scheme. Education: we will commit to providing ongoing continuous professional development to Veterans, inline with business needs. We will also educate all nonarmed forces personnel within the organisation on the unique value and contribution of our Armed Forces employees. We will educate nonVeteran employees on how they can best support their Veteran peers. Cadet Forces: we identify the advantages of also employing cadet force adult volunteers (CFAV) and support flexible working to ensure that both CFAV and reservist staff can meet their training commitments.
