Reserves: o Working with Defence to highlight to employees that they will be supported if they choose to join the Reserves; o Supporting Employer Notification by reminding staff who you know, and may not know, are Reserves to ensure the Reserves HR database is up to date; o Working with DRM (Defence Relationship Management) Comms Team for events such as Reserves and Armed Forces Day by encouraging Reserves Case Studies. o Supporting any mobilisations and deployment; o Actively encouraging members of staff to become Reservists. Veterans: o Having a guaranteed interview scheme for service leavers that can demonstrate that they satisfy the required qualification criteria; o Offering work placement opportunities; o Having a mentoring scheme for veterans who we employ direct from the Forces; o Work with Career Transition Partnership on Veteran employment opportunities; o Offering Insight Days; o Armed Forces Network - an all-inclusive group to support those with an interest in the forces, and to help veterans settle into employment. Spousal/Partner Support: o Providing flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partners deployment. o Supporting and seeking the employment of Forces spouses, partners and dependents demonstrated by signing up to Forces Families Jobs; o Offering support for any spouse or partner whose partner is to be deployed before, during and after deployment by offering leave at short notice where possible; o Working with Families Federations for all three services to profile Dukes as Forces family friendly. Cadets: o Offering additional leave days to Cadet Force Adult Volunteers to enable them to satisfy their training requirement; o Engaging with uniformed and none uniformed Cadet Instructors to establish what support employer can offer; o Insight days for older Cadets looking for either an apprenticeship, degree or further education options; o Supporting local Cadet Units where possible. Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS): o Working with CTP to offer opportunities to the WIS; o Working with charities within this area to offer Work Placements to support back to work initiatives. Promoting the business as a Forces Friendly Organisation: o Using AFC and ERS logos on marketing collateral, website, publications, e-mail footers etc; o Promotional campaigns such as Forces recruitment films and case studies of Veteran/Reservist employees; o Supporting Armed Forces charities with fundraising and supporting staff who volunteer to assist o Attending Employer Engagement events with DRM and single Services; o Offering commercial discounts via the Defence Discount Service. National Events: o Supporting Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal Day and Remembrance activities.
