Our commitment to the Armed Forces Community
- Committing to becoming an armed forces-friendly organisation for the benefit of residents who have previously served. 2. Recognising from the outset that we are supporting veterans; when we learn that a resident had previously served, we will have a plan in place about how we can best support them in our care homes. 3. Understanding that previous service may change the way in which we provide care, and doing everything we can to ensure that we care for veterans in the right way. 4. Supporting veterans in our care from diverse backgrounds, and recognising that being an inclusive provider will improve the quality of life for those in our care 5. Promoting that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation, which we will communicate on our website and in our supporting marketing materials, so that veterans can be assured of the com-munity links that we have. 6. Providing Armed Forces Community training for our colleagues. 7. Promoting the Armed Forces Covenant and our support for the Armed Forces Community to our colleagues, our residents and the wider public. 8. Supporting Armed Forces events, such as Armed Forces Day/Week, Reserves Day, the Poppy Ap-peal and Remembrance activities. 9. Using the Covenant and Employer Recognition Scheme logos in our communications and market-ing. 10. Engaging with, and supporting, local Armed Forces charities, for example by supporting their fundraising activities. 11. Signposting members of the Armed Forces Community who live in our care homes to available support, for example from Cobseo, the Veterans Gateway or statutory services in our area.
