Our commitment to the Armed Forces Community
We shall promote the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation by:- Publicising our Armed Forces Covenant on our website and displaying the Armed Forces Covenant logo on our website and literature. We shall support the employment of Veterans and those leaving the forces by Working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), in order to establish a tailored employment pathway for Service Leavers. We have employed 3 service leavers to date and one family member and are committed to seek to employ more through the CTP. We will guarantee an interview for anyone through the Armed Forces Community wo meets the core selection criteria for any role that we advertise. We will actively work with the CTP assist to identify appropriate job opportunities for wounded, injured and sick members of the Armed Forces as they transition into civilian life. We shall support the employment of Service Spouses & Partners by: Offering guaranteed interviews to all Service Spouses and partners who meet the core selection criteria for any role that we advertise. We will look sympathetically on requests for holidays before, during and after a partners overseas deployment, when the service person has leave to spend time with family. We will do everything we can to meet reasonable requests for holiday at short notice In consultation with the employee and service welfare staff we will give consideration to granting special paid leave to employees who suffer bereavement or whose loved ones are injured in service We shall support employees who choose to be member of the Reserve Forces by: Accommodating their training and deployment needs where possible. Including accommodating requests for holiday to coincide with annual camp and, in consultation with individual employees, potentially granting additional unpaid leave. We shall support Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal Day and Remembrance activities by: Aiming to actively participate in Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, Poppy Appeal Day and Remembrance by attending local events, following online and posting on our social media platforms We Shall support Armed Forces Charities by Supporting fundraising and supporting staff who volunteer to assist or take part in their own Armed Forces charity challenges.
