Description
Blackburn Rovers Community Trust deliver sessions on a weekly basis to support local Armed Forces Veterans living across Blackburn with Darwen.
The award-winning official charity of Blackburn Rovers encourages current and former veterans to join our friendly and inclusive group.
Historically, the town and wider East Lancashire region has had a connection to the Armed Forces, with Blackburn Rovers proud support the project for our heroes who served their country so bravely during conflicts around the world.
We welcome veterans to a weekly breakfast club every Tuesday from 10am-12pm in Strikers’ Lounge at the Blackburn End of Ewood Park.
At our breakfast club, local veterans can speak with their fellow comrades over tea or coffee and enjoy playing board games, while social support and guidance is also available.
This is a joint venture by BRCT supported from the Lancashire Armed Forces Covenant Hub and Veterans in Communities.
One of its key programmes is the support it provides to former Armed Forces veterans in the area. Through this programme, BRCT aims to help veterans transition back into civilian life and provide them with the resources they need to succeed. BRCT's programme for veterans includes a range of activities, including physical activity sessions, skills workshops, and social events. These activities are designed to help veterans build confidence, develop new skills, and foster a sense of community.
We look forward to welcoming local veterans along to our programme at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.
