GFIE is a scheme specifically aimed at removing employment barriers associated with the application process to help individuals build necessary skills & experiences for a fulfilling career in the Civil Service.

It can offer you: Direct placements into Civil Service roles. A short-term Internship (which can lead to a Fixed Term Appointment). To be eligible for this scheme you (or your partner) must meet the following criteria: Still serving but currently in your resettlement period. Have served in the Armed Forces for at least 1 year. Be within 5 years of leaving the Armed Forces Be within 10 years of leaving the Armed Forces if you were Medically Discharged The Spouse or Partner of someone meeting the above criteria.

As part of your employment, you will have access to a range of learning and development, and a buddy who can help you to understand the Civil Service and enable you to make the most of the opportunities it offers.
