Job Summary
This is a hybrid position based out of our Moorgate office, London, or Worthing office, Sussex.
The Relationship Lead is a critical role within the Group Procurement Team responsible for building strong relationships with both strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders ensuring alignment between business and procurement strategy. You will be at the heart of strategic relationship management - conducting quarterly business reviews, evaluating supplier performance, and compliance.
Working in step with Global Procurement Category Managers and Leads, SRM, Risk, Group Legal and senior stakeholders you will ensure supplier relationships align with category and business strategy, and objectives, delivering cost savings, innovation, and operational excellence.
This is a cross-functional role focusing on complex relationships, performance management, regular business reviews, engagement and collaboration, using initiative and a forward-thinking proactive approach that make a tangible difference through supplier innovation, risk assessment, and ensuring cost savings are realised.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Support Global Category Managers and business stakeholders in implementing category and business strategies with key suppliers
- Develop and execute relationship strategies that identify and capitalise on value creating opportunities, enhance performance, drive operational excellence, effective cost control, deliver savings and foster innovation.
- Lead quarterly business reviews with suppliers and internal stakeholders balancing compliance and long-term relationship growth.
- Monitor and manage KPI's, ensure compliance with contract, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Support Supplier Risk Management and Category Teams to facilitate the completion of risk assessments ongoing risk management tasks and ESG requirements.
- Work closely with Category Managers, the supplier risk team, legal, and business leaders to align supplier relationships with long-term objectives.
- Act as an escalation point for supplier-related issues and serve as a key stakeholder in dispute resolution.
- Support category management teams in commercial negotiations and contract renewals if required
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
- CIPS qualification is desirable
- At least 7 years' experience in a commercial role (e.g., Contract Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Category Management, Procurement).
- Proven ability to translate business needs into relationship management strategies that deliver tangible operational and commercial benefits.
- Strong contract management experience, including SLAs, KPIs, and supplier performance monitoring.
- Excellent influencing, problem solving and stakeholder management skills. Able to break down barriers of communication and facilitate action.
- Experience in supplier performance reporting, with proficiency in Excel and other reporting tools.
- Ability to analyse data to make informed recommendations to Category Managers and business to help in optimising procurement processes and making strategic decisions.
