Brief Description
- Duration: Permanent , full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered.
- Location: This role can be based in London Waterloo General Offices or Milton Keynes.
- Band & Salary: Band 1C £116,753 - £141,771 , All salaries offered are subject to experience and will be offered within the advertised salary range.

If this sounds like you, we welcome you to join our team as the Director of Operational Delivery. This is a full-time, permanent role, with flexible working options available.
In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of operations delivery, leading the National Operations Centre's to effectively communicate, coordinate, and implement crisis management arrangements across the railway industry. You will act as the professional head of control for Network Rail driving excellence in train service management and recovery, command and control and incident management. The role also leads on operational security and resilience, acts as the key partner for the British Transport Police (BTP), oversees the operational systems team and national events and exercising.

We are looking for a results-oriented, forward-thinking professional who demonstrates emotional intelligence, inclusivity, and dynamism. A natural leader and collaborator, you will bring innovation and expertise to help shape the future of our operations, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the nation's railway network as we transition towards GBR.
Essential criteria:
- Member of a relevant of body i.e., Institution of Railway Operators. or equivalent experience
- Significant experience of Operational delivery in a transport environment.
- Extensive understanding of rail industry operations at senior management level, including understanding the role of parties such as Department for Transport (DfT), British Transport Police (BTP), Office of Rail and Road (ORR) and Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB).
- Experience of delivery of strategic change programmes in the construction and/or rail industry
- Strong commercial focus and financially astute.
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrable delivery of leadership and behavioural change within a large organisation.
- Proven experience in service delivery for the passenger and freight customer.
- Significant experience in leading, managing and developing people including within an operational environment.
- Proven ability to influence decision making and build cross functional and cross company relationships
- Excellent organisation, communication, interpersonal and report writing skills
- Thorough knowledge/understanding of the railway industry, and the impact of crime on safety and performance.
- Significant successful experience of leading response to an organisation or industry wide crisis
