Field Service Engineer (100jc) – Westbury/Remote – £35 to £45k depending on experience + benefits
They expect you to have the following:
· Excellent IT skills and an appetite to understand and utilise new and advancing technology.
1. Knowledge of deploying IP based networks using DCHP and fixed IPs.
2. Knowledge of being able to remote into devices locally and over networks.
3. Ability to diagnose and solve networking issues.
4. Ability to configure VPNs and add clients to a system.
5. Knowledge of MDM management software.
· The ability to work in austere environments with minimal support and equipment to meet a customer need.
· An approach to work that is thorough, has attention to detail and is proactive.
· Excellent communication skills to deliver effective training to the customer and end user.
· Appropriate security clearances, or ability to obtain them.
· A UK Driving Licence
Whilst not necessary to apply, they would love you to also have:
· Experience of working internationally.
· Knowledge of Python, JSON and SQL.
· Ability to configure, deploy and manage deployable networks (e.g. unifi).
· Experience of hardware configuration and assembly.
· Qualifications in training delivery.
· Experience of working in or with the defence sector.
· Preparedness to work extended or antisocial hours when required by the customer.
My client is a performance analytics company based in the Southwest; they have an office in central Bristol and their main depot based in Westbury, Wiltshire. They embrace hybrid working and the role will be office based typically 1-2 days a week, but you will be required to travel depending on contract and customer demands and may be deployed between 8 to 12 weeks a year both in the UK and possibly overseas, with an extra payment of £100 per day when on UK deployment and with overseas carrying a higher daily rate depending on locations.
The ideal candidate would be someone who has a good understanding of communications systems and has the ability to carry out 1st and 2nd line repairs in the field, as well as being able to communicate with individuals at all levels from Pte’s through to Senior Officers when instruction them on the use of the equipment.
