About the Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic researcher to join the Vision and Eye Research Institute (VERI). VERI is part of the new School of Medicine. In the latest Research Excellence Framework review, VERI's research was rated as world leading.
You'll work within a multi-disciplinary research team on projects to explore the impact of vision loss and to co-develop interventions that will improve the health and wellbeing of people with vision loss. You will be expected to develop research projects using appropriate techniques and methods, write up and disseminate research results, and apply for further funding.
With a first degree in Optometry, Medicine, Allied or Public Health discipline or Psychology, and a higher degree in qualitative research in Medicine, Allied Health or Public Health, you will have a comprehensive understanding of techniques, experience of data collection and data analysis, working with patients and writing research papers. You will have an enthusiastic and flexible approach and good interpersonal and negotiating skills, have experience of working with people with vision loss/other disabilities. You will have a passion to reduce blindness. Experience in Vision and Eye Research is not essential.
