Course details Updating the built environment is a priority in the UK’s efforts to hit its 2050 decarbonisation targets and the government’s net-zero strategy includes measures to support retrofitting.

Retrofit Surveyors will play a key role as the UK reduces its carbon emissions by improving energy efficiency and retrofitting many of 27 million homes. The role of the Retrofit Surveyor/assessor is laid out in PAS 2035; the standard to which the professional roles involved in retrofit projects have to work.

Their job is to visit properties and carry out the survey that is required to inform the decision making about what measures should be installed. This will involve assessing the condition, occupancy and significance of the building in line with the PAS.

This course offers qualifications leading to employment opportunities as a Retrofit Surveyor/Assessor, and pathways to working with major energy providers across the UK,

As we know, the industry at large is suffering from a skills gap, however no more so than in the area of Green Skills. Recruitment for these roles is high and these positions have a typical starting salary of £30-35K per annum.

You will learn: Determining the construction and conditions of a dwelling Identifying Energy Efficiency Measures constraints Identifying any defects or structural issues Identifying any Energy Efficiency Measures already installed Completing a measured survey of the dwelling Report preparation
