Description
SSAFA Cyprus Health Visiting : Health Visitors, who are registered Nurses or Midwives with specialised training, work to support families in promoting the health and well-being of babies and young children. They collaborate with the Community Health Team and Primary Health Care Team to provide suitable services for parents and children. Health Visitors offer assistance in various locations, including homes, medical centers, Early Years settings, Family Hubs, and through remote communication methods. The services provided encompass a range of areas such as transitioning into parenthood, well-baby clinics, child development, speech and communication skills, addressing additional needs, managing minor illnesses, offering advice on health conditions, feeding, mental health, parenting challenges, family planning, teething, dental health, health promotion, and emotional well-being of children. To access these services, families with children under 5 years old are contacted at specific times, including arrival in Cyprus, pregnancy stages, and various milestones in a child's life. Health Visitors in British Forces Cyprus adhere to UK guidance and best practices outlined in the Healthy Child Programme. They offer a Universal Service available to all families with young children.
