Description
SSAFA CYPRUS COMMUNITY CHILDREN's NURSES: Supporting Children with Medical and Behavioral Conditions Role of the Community Children's Nurse: Community Children's Nurses (CCNs) are trained UK children's nurses registered with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council. They support children with both short-term and long-term medical and behavioral conditions. How We Assist: CCNs empower families to manage children's health needs confidently. They offer support, advice, and advocacy for various needs, including hospital admissions, planned surgery, bed-wetting, constipation, diabetes, asthma, eczema, allergies, epilepsy, behavioral difficulties, and chronic conditions. Our Approach: CCNs provide integrated, skilled care working with other health professionals in British Forces Cyprus, Republic of Cyprus, and the UK. Care is tailored, evidence-based, and collaborative, involving professionals like mental health services, school nurses, midwives, therapists, GPs, and more. Accessing Our Service: Referral through local medical centers initiates an assessment of needs and care planning by CCNs. The CCN becomes the 'Named Nurse,' coordinating the child's care.
