The Role
As an Electrical and Electronic Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The key focus of this role is to manage the delivery of engineering and technical activities, through the application of process, electrical and electronic engineering knowledge, and experience.
Day-to-day, you'll based at our Bristol site, the specific role is the design and development of Launch Control Systems for Submarines.
- Testing and fault finding, whilst adhering to the engineering lifecycle.
- Attending other Babcock sites for end customer meetings.
- Integrating off the shelf products.
- Handling interface control circuits with instrumentation, mechanical, and communication systems.
- Responsible for obsolescence studies and reporting into project managers and subject matter experts.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with typically 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.
Essential Experience of the Electrical and Electronic Engineer
- Working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities on a range of project types.
- Experience in covering a variety of tasks across a range of complexities.
- Interpretating specifications and actively selecting components for engineering design.
- Good communications skills and the ability to collaborate with other company departments.
- Familiarity with a range of instrumentation such as pressure transmitters and proximity sensors.
- Experience in fault finds and use of laboratory equipment.
Qualifications for the Electrical and Electronic Engineer
- Higher National Certificates (HNCs) and Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) or Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant engineering discipline, with significant demonstrable experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate can start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance but will need to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
