Dementia Support - MCST offers Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) sessions at Age UK Portsmouth's Bradbury Centre. These sessions cost £20 each and include refreshments. MCST is designed for those newly diagnosed or living with mild to moderate dementia. Participants engage in stimulating activities like discussions, word games, quizzes, physical activities, and creative tasks to maintain memory and mental function. The groups provide a supportive and fun environment for building friendships. Sessions are 90 minutes long, facilitated by trained Age UK Portsmouth staff, and have a maximum of eight participants. Cognitive Stimulation is a non-drug treatment recommended by NICE for dementia. Sessions are held every Monday and Thursday from 10.00am to 11.30am.
