Description
The Gloucestershire Home for Veterans provides housing and assistance to ex-Service personnel facing homelessness. Residents must have served in the British Armed Forces. The facility consists of two homes for up to 11 Veterans each. Upon arrival, residents are assigned a key worker to create a personalized support plan. The team helps connect residents to various agencies, including counseling, mental health, and substance abuse services. The homes are near Gloucester city center and offer access to leisure activities and training courses. The facility helps residents acquire skills for independent living and offers support for up to 2 years. They also aid in transitioning to permanent homes. Referrals are accepted from local agencies, The Royal British Legion, local prisons, and self-referrals. Donations and support are encouraged to sustain the facility's mission.
