Description
Food and Incidentals Allowance is available to eligible single or unaccompanied Regular and FTRS (FC) Service personnel who live 3 miles or more away from their unit's messing facilities, do not primarily eat in the mess, and are not receiving Lodging Allowance. The allowance, paid at a daily rate of £7.58, assists in covering the costs of food and household expenses. It can also be claimed by Reserve Forces residing in Substitute Single Service Accommodation under similar conditions. To claim, personnel should use MOD Form 1154 through their unit HR/personnel office. This allowance cannot be claimed if most meals are taken in the mess or if certain other allowances are being claimed. Additional criteria can be found in JSP 752, chapter 5.
