Description
Channel your office-based transport operations experience, ability to engage with customers and calm-under-pressure personality into a fixed-term maternity-cover job as Transport Office Co-ordinator at our Gatwick depot. As TOC, you will join us for up to 12 months and earn up to circa £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a host of benefits, including pension scheme (you contribute 5% of pay, Grundon matches this), 30 days’ annual leave (inclusive of 8 bank holidays), and reward and discount shopping scheme.
About the Transport Office Co-ordinator (maternity cover) role
Our busy transport offices are the nerve centres of our waste collection services and key to daily operations running smoothly. You will:
- Manage requests from initial order through to processing, liaising with customers and proactively dealing with complaints.
- Use your scheduling/planning skills to prepare daily computerised routes for drivers and ensure they are debriefed at the end of shifts, resolving any issues with their rounds.
- Resolve potential operational service failures, such as breakdowns.
- Accurately record and input data.
What we’re looking for in our Transport Office Co-ordinator (maternity cover)
- Ideally, two years' office-based experience in transport operations, or a sound knowledge of the waste industry
- Good computer skills, including databases
- Strong team player and confident communicator
- Full UK driving licence
Working hours: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri, though flexibility may be required.
