Working hours: Mon to Fri, 7am-5pm - 45 hours per week

If so, you could fit in well as Waste Operative (Weighbridge Operator) at our busy waste facility between Reading and Maidenhead, where clinical waste from customers like hospitals, vets and care homes is weighed, recorded and sorted for onward transfer to other waste facilities.

What you’ll be doing as Waste Operative (Weighbridge Operator)
You will be taking deliveries of waste and weighing them on a large set of scales. Weights will be recorded on to a computer system, you’ll complete the paperwork and generate tickets – that’s the weighbridge! You’ll be communicating with drivers, so you’ve got to like dealing with customers, but that’s just part of the job... You’ll also be on your feet loading trailers with sacks, moving waste around the facility, operating machinery and carrying out bin repairs. 

We have a team of 16 operatives in total, some of whom work on a shift rotation, so you’ll be working with different people each week. 

What you’ll need
Basic IT skills are essential (of course we’ll train you up on how to use the weighbridge system) and a basic understanding of health and safety.
