Recycling Operative

Salary: From around £616-£696 per week, including shift allowance, depending on skill level
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Working hours: Average working week is 44.75 hours on a two-week early/late rotating shift pattern. Week 1: 6am-2.30pm, Mon to Fri. Week 2: 2.30pm-12.30am, Mon to Thurs, 2.30pm-10pm on Fri. Plus every other Sat morning, 6am-10.30am

What you’ll be doing as Recycling Operative 
Our Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs) are plants where materials like paper, cardboard, cans and bottles are separated and sorted from tipped waste, baled and sent on to be recycled. 

It's a varied job: you might go from sweeping one minute to operating an excavator the next, to clearing a blockage that would cause downtime, or loading a shipping container with bales of recovered paper. 

We have a team of 14 operatives in total, some of whom, like you, work on a shift rotation. You’d be working with around five people each week. 
 
What you’ll need 
If you have a basic understanding of the waste industry, ideally with experience in a recycling processing plant/baler operations, then that’s a plus.
