Description

Channel your office-based transport operations experience, ability to engage with customers and calm-under-pressure personality into a fixed-term maternity-cover job as Transport Office Co-ordinator at our Colnbrook depot, near Heathrow. As TOC, you will join us for up to 12 months and earn up to circa £39,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a host of benefits, including pension scheme (you contribute 5% of pay, Grundon matches this), 31 days’ annual leave (inclusive of 8 bank holidays), and reward and discount shopping scheme.

About the Transport Office Co-ordinator (maternity cover) role
Our busy transport offices are the nerve centres of our waste collection services and key to daily operations running smoothly. Colnbrook is one of our bigger depots, and as one of four Transport Office Co-ordinators, you will:
- Manage requests from initial order through to processing, liaising with customers and proactively dealing with complaints.
- Use your scheduling/planning skills to prepare daily computerised routes for drivers and ensure they are debriefed at the end of shifts, resolving any issues with their rounds.
- Resolve potential operational service failures, such as breakdowns. 
- Accurately record and input data. 

What we’re looking for in our Transport Office Co-ordinator (maternity cover)
- Ideally, two years' office-based experience in transport operations, or a sound knowledge of the waste industry
- Good computer skills, including databases 
- Strong team player and confident communicator  
- Full UK driving licence 

Working hours: 7am-4.30pm Mon-Fri, plus one in three Sat mornings, 7am-11.30am - an average of 44 hours per week, though flexibility may be required.
